#TRAVELINGTINK x TWEEN WATERS RESORT, CAPTIVA, FLORIDA

I’m always such a happy little pup when I get to go to Florida! When the sunshine warms my fur and I can smell the fresh ocean breeze, my tail starts wagging! This time, we headed to Captiva Island. This beautiful laid back island is famous for soft beaches, a friendly vibe and some of the most spectacular sunsets. I was extra happy this time, because my human and I stayed at the fabulous Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa.

Tween Waters is a bit of a local landmark, with a history that dates back to the 1920s. The Tween Waters Inn welcomed its first guests in 1926 and it has grown to become of the finest hotels on the island. It’s managed by Tony Lapi, who has built a successful business on the desire to create a warm, friendly, memorable experience for guests. Tween Waters Resort is a great option for anyone traveling with their pets. The staff greeted me with cuddles and treats! Tween Waters welcomes two pets up to 40lbs, for an additional fee of $25 per pet, per night.

Since I’m the ultimate diva pup, we pampered ourselves with an entire dog-friendly cottage. These cottages are located on the property at Tween Waters and they feature fantastic amenities, including free WiFi, coffee makers, refrigerators and private screen porches.  Check out the #Travelingtink VLOg for a full tour below!

Tween Waters’ Breakfast

Tween Waters’ Breakfast

We started everything with a fantastic beachside breakfast. From blueberry pancakes to a huge omelette served in its own skillet, it was absolutely divine. Then we lounged in the sunshine in our cabana. There’s just something so blissful about sipping pina coladas, gazing up at the sky and not having to do anything!

My human and I went for a stroll along the beautiful dog friendly beach. We watched the manatees and the dolphins from the docks - such an incredible nature experience! You can walk along the quiet, clean beach for at least a mile in either direction and there is so much to see and explore. I love the way the warm, soft sand feels on my paws and the sound of the ocean waves crashing. You really can’t beat the location here. If you wanted to go golfing, fishing, or boating it would all be available nearby. You can even take one of the resort’s free kayaks and explore the nearby coastline.

But it’s also quite relaxing and quiet, as it is nearly at the end of Captiva Island. Since the food and amenities are so great, you wouldn’t have to leave the resort if you didn’t want to. Plus, the resort also offers massages and beauty treatments at the spa. It’s the perfect place for a pampering getaway if you’ve been stressed out and just want to relax!

The perfect day at Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa ends with a gorgeous sunset on the beach. As the sun sank slowly behind the horizon, I felt so grateful that my human and I got to experience this very special spot.

XOXO
