#TRAVELINGTINK x THE GRAND BOHEMIAN HOTEL IN CHARLESTON, SC

I LOVE traveling in the South. The people are so friendly, the food is delicious and the historic buildings are so elegant and beautiful. So, when my human told me that we were taking a trip to Charleston, South Carolina, you can bet that my tail started wagging! Charleston is steeped in the charm of the south, with 19th-century porches, the smell of blooming jasmine and old-timey gas lanterns on every corner. It’s stylish and timeless and the perfect place to explore with my little sister Belle (who’s becoming even more of a travel diva than me!)

We stayed at the super-stylish Grand Bohemian Hotel, right in the heart of the historic district downtown Charleston. It’s part of the Marriott’s “Autograph Collection” and it definitely passes the vibe check. The first time I walked into this fabulous property, I fell in love.

There’s something truly inspiring about staying in a hotel that is filled from wall to wall with beautiful pieces of art! From the sparkling chandeliers in the lobby to the chic designer furniture, it’s all so exquisite. There’s even an in-house art gallery for guests to enjoy! As a pup of very fine taste, I was in heaven.

This hotel really has the little extras all figured out, and it makes your stay feel so luxurious. I mean, who doesn’t love snuggling up on a pillow top mattress with a gourmet breakfast in bed? Honestly, that bed was HUGE and sooo comfy… I loved curling up and having a snooze. Plus, they adore dogs and treated Belle and I like VIPs (aka. Very Important Pups). We got plenty of treats during our stay, as well as lots of love and cuddles from the staff. Dogs are always welcome at all Kessler hotels and there’s even a convenient grassy area on the property for those necessary walkies.

Want to see just how much they love dogs? Check out the Kessler Canines hashtag on Insta. You’ll see plenty of fab pups on there, including yours truly!

So anyway, what’s there to do in Charleston? Lots! The Grand Bohemian is only a four minute walk from Charleston City Market and just a few minutes from the Charleston Historic District. The neighborhood is so vibrant and chic and I even loved people-watching from our window.

We treated ourselves to a mouth-watering spread of good old fashioned Southern BBQ and also traditional shrimp and grits! We also strolled down the lovely quiet tree-lined boulevards like the gorgeous sweet Southern Belles we are. When my sister and I wander down the street in our matching outfits, we always cause a stir! With so many fashionable shops, ornate fountains, colorful historic buildings and scenic spots, this city really is an Instagram diva’s dream come true.

After a big day of exploring the city, the Élevé Rooftop Restaurant is a great place for humans (only) to have a delicious dinner while enjoying the view. Only the best for my human after a full day with such sophisticated pups!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: a stay in Charleston is simply better when you’re at the Grand Bohemian.
