#TravelingTink x LA CLEF LOUVRE PARIS - ASCOTT HOTEL, PARIS, FRANCE

Audrey Hepburn once said, “Paris is always a good idea.” …..I COMPLETELY AGREE!

My human and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Paris, where we both fell under the magical spell of the City of Lights.

I arrived with full on attitude, wearing my chic red collar and the quintessential striped shirt - an outfit that said, “Paris, are you ready for me?” (Even though I am only un petit chien, I can be pretty feisty when I want to be.)

I was excited to make the most of my time in this famous world city and enjoy the unique je ne sais quoi of Paris with my human. And we certainly did! My little paws were tired after all the wandering we did through the endlessly intriguing streets of this world class city.

We stayed at the La Clef Louvre Hotel - a lovely little hidden gem. Located in a historical building dating back to the 1900s, La Clef Louvre is part of a collection of boutique serviced residences in some of the finest locations in Paris.

The French capital has a certain irresistible, timeless character to it that I absolutely love - and I can’t get enough of it! The elegant Art-Nouveau inspired lobby of the La Clef Louvre is a great example of this. Everything about this hotel was stylish, unique and elegant - it was the epitome of Parisian charm. The La Clef Louvre also serves up a complimentary tea time between 3pm and 5pm, with pastries, fresh juice, coffee and tea - how delightful is that?

The fact that it is pet-friendly made me love it even more. As soon as we arrived I got plenty of cuddles from the front desk staff. I could certainly tell they were true animal lovers. Humans can bring along pets of any size for an additional fee of 10 euros per night, per pet - and your furry friend will treated like a VIP.  Whenever I returned from my daily adventures in Paris, the staff at the La Clef Louvre were there to greet me happily and eager to hear about my day.

When we arrived, the hotel gave us a lovely box of macarons and a bottle of wine - a wonderful treat that made us feel very welcome. (My human tells me they were delicious.)

Our room was amazing, with beautiful fittings and a very comfy bed. It even had not one, but two sweet little balconies, where I could sniff the air, bask in the sunshine and watch the people walking by on the streets below. Our suite was appointed with plush furnishings and lots of little extras that my human really enjoyed - including the Nespresso coffee maker and the high quality bedding. The hotel also offered a delightful breakfast buffet, which was a great way for my human to start the morning. We also had the option of room service breakfast in the room, which gave us a chance to enjoy the Paris morning from the comfort of our room. You can even eat out on the balcony!

Plus, the hotel was in very close proximity to the Louvre and Saint Germain, so it was ideal for sightseeing. It’s located in the 1st Arrondissement, which means that it’s right in the heart of Paris and is surrounded by adorable shops, yummy patisseries, high end shopping, pleasant sprawling gardens and historic streets. The hardest part? Deciding what to do first!

We spent our days strolling the streets and seeing the sights, and our nights enjoying sublime Parisian cuisine and watching the lights of the Eiffel Tower twinkle. The Palace of Versailles was truly impressive (the royals really did know how to live in style!) I felt very loved during my time in Paris. Every morning I was greeted by the staff at La Clef Louvre, who gave me plenty of hugs and kisses. You could really tell they embraced their pet guests and treated them just like humans.

Dogs have a special place in Parisian society and I was welcomed into shops, restaurants, cafes and other places usually exclusively reserved for humans. Many humans I met were happy to see me and I was offered lots of water and treats. I met many other chic Parisian pups and their humans as we explored the city.

Gazing out at the view of Paris from the Sacre Coeur Basilica in Montmartre, shopping for delicate and delicious macarons at a patisserie, admiring priceless works of art at the Louvre Museum - my human and I soaked up as much of Paris as we could during our visit.

La Clef Louvre really was the perfect base for all of our Parisian adventures. After a long day of sightseeing, it was nice to be able to wind down in our luxurious room - I felt like a queen while wrapped in my fuzzy robe! My human treated herself to a nice glass of Bordeaux and we felt right at home.

The wise and beautiful Audrey Hepburn was right - Paris IS always a good idea. This unforgettable city has so many enchanting attractions, such wonderful food (according to my human) and such a timeless elegance and charm. Staying at La Clef Louvre was also a very good idea - as this boutique hotel was ideally located and went above and beyond to pamper us during our stay.

My human and I had a fantastic time and when the time came to leave, I really didn’t want to go! But, there’s always next time! So I said au revoir to Paris for now… and I can’t wait to go back!

XOXO,
